Nageen Mir

Board President

Nageen came to St. Louis to pursue her Master of Public Health at the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis, after completing her B.A. in International and Area Studies. After becoming unexpectedly attached to St. Louis, she decided to stay following graduation in May 2016. Nageen's training in qualitative research methods through her work as a research coordinator at Washington University School of Medicine highlighted the value of using patients' own words to describe their experiences in the healthcare system. Passionate about public health problem-solving, particularly related to policy, she is moved, energized, and inspired by how narrative storytelling can provide context and connection to individuals like, and unlike ourselves. She is also a volunteer with Welcome Neighbor, a community organization that provides support to refugees resettled in St. Louis.
